CHETNA WOMEN’S CELL

Chetna Women’s cell has been designed to act as a catalyst for promoting Women Empowerment and Gender Equality for the upliftment of young women in society. In accordance Chetna Women cell (CWC), as a strong kernel has made an effort to create a platform to express their needs and priorities and help to achieve a life free from harm and discrimination. Chetna Women Cell was incepted in 1999 by Nirmala College for Women (Autonomous),with a view to empower women, redress grievance of women both faculty and students. It has a profound mission of educating women, creating awareness, providing motivation and development in various fields. Women’s cell organizes lectures, competitions, awareness program and educating women on issues like health, legal, economic and self –reliance. Women are placed in a position that demands a woman to have superior education to attain economic, social and political equality.

VISION

Women cell visualizes an egalitarian society for young women and aims at empowering and orienting women to identify their potential and help them to compete in the world.

MISSION

To train young girls to acquire knowledge and skill to withstand the changing phase in all spheres of life, develop social and economic capacities and inculcate ethical values for the betterment of self, family and society.

OBJECTIVES

  • Sensitize students on serious women issues.
  • Impart knowledge on legal rights of women and awareness program on gender sensitization
  • To organize guest lectures, on women related issues and impart knowledge on opportunities and train them.
  • To inculcate entrepreneurial attitude among young girls and women.
  • Counseling students by imparting the importance of spiritual, health and hygiene
  • To celebrate International Women’s day every year on March 8th

WOMEN CELL POLICIES

  • To identify the leadership qualities among young girls and women and build their innate potentials.
  • To instill positive self-esteem and self-confidence in the girl students and women faculty to take the right decision in and for-their lives.
  • To create awareness among female students and staff about the social, legal and constitutional rights of women in order to prevent gender exploitation.
  • To create females cognizant about mental and sexual violence and develop knowledge on self-defense.
  • Spreading awareness on good health and nutrition and facilities available for them.

PRACTICES

  • Encouraging female students in group activities like organizing Melas.
  • Organizes guest lecturers to instill values and developing personality and leadership qualities by women enterpernerus.
  • Conducting various competitions to encourage their artistic talents for creative thinking
  • To inculcate entrepreneurial attitude among young girls by organizing entrepreneur Events.
  • Counseling services to change the mind set and attitude toward life.

  • As a platform students can comfortably participate and share their views.
