DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS (SF)

The Department was established in the year 2005 with the aim of inculcating an interdisciplinary knowledge in the field of Mathematics and Computer Applications. In the year 2014 the department underwent a conversion of degree as B.Sc Mathematics. The Department has to its credit the conduct of a State Level Seminar in the year 2010, a National Level Seminar in the year 2012 and Workshops every year.

The Mission of the department is

The activities of the department include organizing Guest Lectures, Association meetings and a Bridge course is conducted for the First-year students on ‘Basics of Computers’. The students are motivated to take part in Inter-Departmental and Inter-collegiate competitions. Various Intra-Departmental competitions like Model Presentation, Chart Presentation, Paper Presentation, Wealth out of Waste, Cookery competition, etc develops the overall skills of the students. Also, the Inter-Departmental competitions like Essay competition, Quiz competition, etc are conducted, which brings out the innate talents of the students. The students of the department with a motto of serving the society, practice contributing a small amount on Wednesdays of every week. At the end of the year, the contributions are granted to the charity homes.
